Overcome your sports injury effectively
Whether you are suffering from a recent sports injury or dealing with a long-term, chronic injury, Cherry Health Center can help you overcome the pain. After examining your injury, we go over options for treatment and rehabilitation. Our goal is to get you back in full condition in the quickest amount of time possible. We treat every type of sports injury, from knee injuries and sprains to shoulder dislocation and swollen muscles.
Our physical therapist Kara Heath specializes in sports injury. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, and she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Missouri State University. She also received her Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science from Olivet Nazarene University. She has worked with many athletes in getting them over their injuries and back into the game.
We also offer kinesiotaping treatments for sports injuries with our certified kinesiotaping practitioner, Lauren Mitchell. Lauren has been a licensed physical therapist assistant since 2006, and she received her Certified Kinesio-Taping Practitioner certification in 2015. Kinesiology is the study of the mechanics of body movements. It involves tape that is placed on the body to support muscles and joints. It can help a muscle rest, wake up a muscle that needs to work after an injury, and improve circulation. Kinesiotaping is unlike other athletic taping because it allows the body to move through its full range of motion while being treated. The kinesiotape can be used not just for support, but for also decreasing swelling and inflammation in any given area. Not only does kinesiotaping aid in treating your current sports injury, but it can help prevent future injuries as well.
